This excellent bush cherry is incredibly hardy and productive. It provides a huge number of fruits early in life and is very reliable even with crazy spring temperatures. One of the very first things to flower in the spring, filling the air with a beautiful scent and providing early browse for the bees. Will produce fruit in full sun to partial shade. The 1/2 inch fruit can be eaten fresh or used in pies or jelly. This cherry relative is native to central Asia and is a popular fruiting plant in Russia. It is tolerant of drought and needs a well drained soil.
This bush is not grafted, so seedlings that come up will have the same qualities and vigor as its parents. Plant 2 or more for best pollination, although believed to be self-fertile.
